Global Chain of Custody Monitoring and Reporting with
TracElite – Always On™

TracElite is the trademarked name of Helveta’s Control
Intelligence System
(CIS) applied to the timber and wood products
sector and was developed with the Tropical Forest Trust. TracElite tracks
timber products through extended supply chains – from the retailer back
to the forest, significantly enhancing traditional Chain of Custody systems.

Designed to work in-store, in-factory and in the most
remote and challenging environments on Earth, TracElite uses proven, robust
technologies to provide a traceability system which is quick to deploy,
reliable and easy to use.

Wood Origin Control Verify Timber Origin Tracking Timber Stakeholder Reporting

Learn how TracElite tracks timber from the
very start of the supply-chain – pre-harvest mapping in the forest.

How does TracElite prevent timber of non-verifiable
origin entering the supply chain? A sophisticated rules engine compares
timber flows at different parts of the supply chain.

A combination of handheld, control systems and
web forms allow flexible data capture to track timber at all stages
in the supply chain.

Configurable reports allow you to give stakeholders
access to your data, from NGOs to auditors – across the Web. Immediate,
verifiable, transparent.

Case Study: PT Daisy Timber

TracElite is being used by a number of concession operators
in Indonesia and Malaysia. One example is PT Daisy Timber, a concession
owner in East Kalimantan (Borneo), who primarily supply Meranti to factories
and sawmills across Indonesia. TracElite is used to map trees in their
concession in Kalimantan, and then registers and tracks logs produced
during harvesting. Logs from the concession have been shipped and tracked
to producers including PT Tanjung Timberindo Industry, a timber factory
in Medan, Sumatra.

Pre-harvest mapping was the first task set underway
at the concession, where trees were tagged and the barcodes scanned. Tree
data was also entered into the HRC and then synchronised. During the harvesting
of the trees new tags were attached to the resulting logs. Further data
was entered into the HRC, tying them back to the originating log and preparing
them for delivery to the factory.

Various capture modes were created in order to track
the timber through the concession. Once data had been entered into the
TracElite system, the concession were able to view real-time information
regarding their timber assets through their TracElite web site login.

The logs continued to be tracked through the factory,
where the TracElite rule-checking activities scrutinise log detail integrity
and logs had made their way volume reconciliation. Once the logs had made
their way through the factory, they continued to be tracked through to
their shipment to the EU.
